EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO ROYAL REGALIA

One of the best way to learn about Brunei is by visiting the Royal Regalia Museum or also known as Muzium Alat Kebesaran Diraja. Its like a museum of the monarchy of Brunei. The museum building is a large gold-domed structure which is fitted with specially-designed mosaics.

The main display at the entrance hall is a huge chariot used for the parade carrying the Sultan through the streets of the city on the occasion of his 1992 silver jubilee celebration. Exhibits include the artifacts that were used for royal ceremonies in the country, the gold and silver ceremonial weaponry, crowns embedded with jewels, and other paraphernalia that formed part of the coronation ceremonies, and ceremonial costumes as well as exhibits of "documents and treaties" in the Constitutional Gallery.

Throughout the visit, scouts were taking notes as part of the learning activities. Some have discovered the relation of state crest to what they see everyday. A large part of the learning was meanings in the Brunei flag and state colors. For some it was the first time and would like to come again with the family. For others they are glad to come again with some learning involved.
